rella was raised in candlekeep, an idyllic and charmed childhood. though a part of her was restless, she loved her home too much to risk losing it by leaving, even if she had been able to. still, the time came where she was ushered out of her home by her father under cover of darkness, and though she was sad to leave her home behind, she was also eager for a new adventure, at least until her father was taken from her.
she had thought her life had been full before, in the library, but as she travelled, she realized how sheltered she had been, and just how little she knew of the world. she was eager to experience all she had been missing, and leaped into new things with vigor. charming and vibrant, she made many friends along the way, and never travelled alone. though this new lifestyle was not without additional loss, she gained more than she had ever known before, even with the darkness of her true heritage revealed. rella had always believed in the power of knowledge, and she would rather know the truth than live forever in ignorance.
part of her missed the home she had left behind, but she had been ready to leave it, and adventure was its own type of home. rella liked helping people, and she learned that there were many people in the world who needed her help. she became known for her kindness and her good deeds, and whenever someone was in trouble, rella's name was usually whispered in their ear. she could have done much good as a goddess, most likely, but she turned that offer down, content in the life she hadn't chosen but that was still very much hers.
rella's favorite books to read had always been fairy tales, so she'd always dreamed about finding a fairytale love of her own: a knight in shining armor to sweep her off her feet and carry her into the sunset. and that's exactly what happened, at least, the first part of it did. rella fell hard, and fast, nearly before even realizing she'd fallen. some things are just meant to be, and for rella, true love was one of them, though it certainly wasn't always easy. anomen was difficult and mercurial at best, but she felt that he would be worth it, and he was.
they met in a tavern in athkatla, but despite these rather unassuming beginnings their love would be the stuff of legends. she stood by him during his sister's murder and the subsequent trials, and she supported him as he passed his test and ascended to knighthood. likewise, he stayed beside her when she lost her soul and threatened to lose herself to the evil in her blood, and she rescued him from a brush with vampirism. their love was stronger for the strife they were put through together, though the couple longed to begin their life together in more peaceful times.
still, they had a bit of a ways to go. anomen proposed to her in the warm, dusty city of amkethran, and rella was only too happy to accept, but it would still be months before the couple was married. first, they had to stop the bhaalspawn wars, and though by this point they were so powerful it was very little effort at all, this, too, took its toll as well. rella was to be offered godhood, and anomen feared he would lose her—but she cast aside the offer with little thought. no matter how few years she might have with her love, she wanted all of them, not an empty throne.
for a time, the couple continued adventuring, pushing back their wedding date further and further. it is rumored that they only kept the eventual final date of their wedding because rella was pregnant, though there is no public record that confirms this one way or another. still, after their wedding, rella and anomen retired from the public eye to focus on each other and raising their children together. though, if tales are any indication, their adventures together never truly ended.
