for years, they carried on their real relationship in secret. she and vardon would be the pinnacle of a perfect, quiet couple during the day, but when night came, they could truly be themselves together. and then, eventually, the day came that vardon's father was no longer able to influence their lives, and iseult decided to retire and stay home with her love. they were married shortly after in a beautiful, elaborate ceremony with an endless shower of roses, and even though they had waited years for the moment, it was no less sweet.
soon after their wedding, the couple found themselves expecting, and iseult gave birth to their firstborn, a son. from the moment he came into the world, they absolutely doted on him, giving him the kind of upbringing iseult's own parents gave her. some years later, they would have more children, and as the years passed, the couple's happiness never diminished.
