when he fell ill, she swore she'd tear apart the realms to save him, and she was true to her word. together, the two set off as desperation slowly seeped into faena's soul. she never gave up on him, though, and she refused to consider that there might not be a way. and in the end, there was: she bound herself to the faerie power verenestra in return for his life.
though her new path brought her difficulties, she never could bring herself to regret it.
vakian and faena didn't really like each other, at least not at first. he found her flighty, and she thought he was arrogant. at some point, though, the ice between them melted and they realized that all the time they had spent hating each other had brought them closer together. their natures hadn't changed, but rather, they learned to see the best in the other, rather than seeking out the worst.
the passion between them burned, and by the time a few months had passed they were bonded and soon married. their small world seemed to stutter when vakian fell ill, but the couple would not be deterred, and were determined to find their happy ending. they left their little town to search for the cure, and faena ended up making the deal that would save him.
they returned home, eager to begin their lives together, and faena was ecstatic to once again see the mountains she so loved. she had become with child on their journey, and they were relieved to be able to start their family back in the safety and peace of their home. they became parents to many children, and all of them were raised with love.
