history

in all of cole's long, long life, he has never cared who he hurt. he has always been his own priority, because he's never had anyone else he cared for or who cared for him. he took what he needed and moved on without guilt or care. he disliked killing, though, and always did his best to avoid. whether out of some strange kindness or simply not wanting to deal with the mess is hard to say.

he did like to write, though, and he did it often, whenever he stole some time away for just himself. in his writings, somewhat of a softer side was revealed, though he would always destroy them before they could meet anyone else's eyes. his true self, though, often appeared on his pages. but these moments were short-lived, usually over before they had truly begun.

for years, he continued this existence and it seemed like nothing would ever change. cole contented himself with his life as it was and figured it would never be any different. he never even imagined that it could be different, it simply was what it was.

meeting hya wasn't something that cole expected to change his life. she was just another girl in the long list of girls that he would seduce and use for her energy, and whatever happened to her afterward, well, that wasn't his concern. her kindness, though, took him by surprise. despite the length of his life, he had never before met someone so without malice or ulterior motive. she asked him for nothing in return, not even his heart as so many had before her.
