reylana's mother loved her, but she was a young, flighty sylph and perhaps she was not ready to be a mother or perhaps she simply wasn't meant to be one. for her only daughter, she tried as hard as she could to raise her but sometimes someone's best isn't enough. though rey knew she was loved, she lacked security, especially having no inkling of who her father was. she found solace in helping to raise the children in her little village, but something was still missing from her life, and her heart still felt hollow.
her peaceful life ended, though, the day bandits overran her home, slaughtering anyone who stood in their way. rey's mother vanished without a trace, and though rey didn't entirely believe her dead, what was certain is that she was truly alone. the need for vengeance for those she had cared for burned in her veins, and she hunted the bandits who took her life from her until she ran into someone who would change her world forever: a half-drow named rysrilmyr.
after some time of travelling, reylana found her father and though things weren't always easy for them, in time he was more of a parent to her than she could ever have hoped, even as a child. he made a point to stay a part of her life, something she that thrilled her beyond all measure. eventually, she would also find her mother again. things were not the same as they had been between them and rey was never able to respect her in the same way again, but the change was mostly for the better.
though reylana had known sadness and even despair in her life, she would always say that she wouldn't have changed anything because the path she had taken had led her to her rys, and that was worth everything to her.
reylana's meeting with rysrilmyr was star-touched, and she knew it from the moment her eyes locked with his. after he saved her life, she chose to stay with him, knowing that he was much stronger than she was and that she could depend on him, though she didn't know why she felt so strongly. when he offered her his protection, she was overcome with happiness and did the only thing she could: accept happily. of course, by then, she was already deeply in love with him, and could never have refused him anything.
the feelings were mutual, and as reylana fell more and more in love with him every day, she knew that she wanted to spend forever with him. though shy by nature, he brought out a certain kind of bravery in her spirit that only existed because of the deep trust she gave him. rey's entire world shifted to revolve around him, and she would often say that loving him was as natural and as easy as breathing, and that nothing else in the world had ever felt as right to her as this.
it wasn't very long before the couple was married under an arch of flowers, reinforcing their eternal love for one another, and the couple set off on their honeymoon. their adventures continued, for a time, and though they ran into their share of troubles, they also had many moments of happiness, including the moment reylana learned she was with their first child. eventually, the couple settled down in a beautiful home surrounded by flowers with a garden that always made rey's eyes sparkle when she tended to it, and made rys smile as her watched her or kneeled by her side. it was in this home that they raised their firstborn son, followed by four daughters.
their home was always filled with happiness and laughter, and rey always adored her rys more than anything. their children grew to be as loving as kind as their parents, and all of them eventually began their own lives, confident and strong because of the love and values their parents had raised them with. as for rys and rey, the love between them never faded, and their days together were always blissful and full of love, and it is said that they never could bear to be parted, but that the love they bore for each other could have transcended all time and distance if they were.
