born under the sign of the eagle and with full selûne under the sign of the chalice
those born under the sign of the eagle are determined, resilient and ambitious. good organizers, leaders and strategists, they are not deterred by setbacks, believing hard work, patience and persistence will triumph. they are loyal but reserved in showing affection.
those born with selûne under the sign of the chalice are mercurial, innovative, creative and confident. easily bored, they crave mental stimulation and challenge. they are eloquent and gifted performers, exuding natural charm.
the sun in the first decan of the eagle: the sun in this decan indicates a clash of family loyalty with one's own career interests. it also reveals a sense of vocation which relates to personal growth. a conjunction with the moon will "eclipse" the solar traits of character and emphasize both the positive and negative lunar traits associated with these.
full selûne in the third decan of the chalice: selûne stationed here indicates a charged and highly emotional temperament.
strong sense of professionalism || focus and intensity that surprises others
birthstone: crystal, the stone of protection, healing, and psionics
nixie is…complicated, at least, that might be the most polite way to put things. as the crown princess born to her clan, the early years of nixie's life were as idyllic as could be. she was pampered and sheltered, and she never imagined that the world could be anything but good. her people were peaceful, and everyone liked it that way. all that changed, though, the day the war came upon them. nixie's peaceful life was thrown into chaos and a series of events that would change everything for her were set into motion.
the war was harsh and brutal, and even nixie could not hide from it. she began to scout for her people, gathering information about the enemy to help them end the war as quickly and bloodlessly as possible. and then came the day she saw her younger brother among them. at first, she thought to rush in and rescue him, no matter the consequences, but she soon realized that he was not there as a prisoner or a warrior, but as a traitor. he was feeding them information. once he was alone, she confronted him to ask why, but she never would learn. he was ready to kill her to keep his secret, and, heartbroken, she had to slay him before he could do the same to her.
in even her wildest dreams, nixie never imagined she'd leave her beloved ocean. it wasn't for lack of wanting to, or even for not wanting to; it was simply something that was. but life often gives people what they least expect, and after killing her brother, nixie knew she could not stay, even if no one else knew what she had done. the wonderful waters of her ocean had become a prison and a constant reminder of what she had done. so she snuck into the royal treasury and stole a powerful artifact that would give her legs—though, she reasoned, it was not really stealing, as it belonged to her family in the first place. the plan was never to leave forever, but plans change, as things do, and when nixie fell in love, she turned away from the ocean forever to stay with the man she loved even more than she loved the ocean.
with her love for animals and nature, she was more concerned about their welfare than that of people, though she never completely abandoned helping others as well, they simply were more of an afterthought, and she often saw it as penance rather than something she did willingly. all her efforts to save the land she loved were rewarded, though, and so she usually had enough time left for others as well. though she sometimes struggles to understand others, disconnected from them as she's been all her life, she never gives up trying.
nixie never wanted a fairytale romance, in fact, she never really wanted a romance at all. that didn't keep love from finding her, though. not too long after she started her life on land, she crossed paths with a man unlike anyone she'd ever seen or heard of: his body was covered in long, sharp blades. she wasn't afraid of him, though, just curious, and she wandered over and introduced herself. their first conversation didn't help her understand him at all, so she asked this man, xaries, if she could travel with him, and he agreed.
their early time together was tempestuous, with him pushing her and her pushing right back, but strangely, in those conversations, they got to know each other, and she came to trust him. though his distrust of her forced her to disclose her true form perhaps before she was ready to show him, nixie found that she wasn't afraid he'd use it against her, and she took the leap of faith this time to tell him that she was a princess, too. and even though he laughed at her, she didn't really mind.
slowly, her feelings for xaries turned from innocent curiosity to fiery passion, but she thought he would laugh if she told him, so she kept it to herself, and resigned herself to being nothing more to him than she was now. so when they finally admitted their feelings, it was him who confessed first—but it was so unexpected that she thought he was making fun of her. when he said he loved her, though, she knew that he meant it, and she knew, in that moment, that she never wanted to be parted from him again as she told him that she loved him, too.
for him, she gave up the ocean, and she would have done it a thousand times over without a shred of regret. for as much as she loved the ocean, she loved him more.
some time passed, years perhaps, and nixie found that she was with child. xaries was horrified, and asked her to remove it. though she was reluctant to do so, she would do anything for him, and so she agreed. but, when the time came, she found that she couldn't go through with it. so, she birthed the child and a beautiful baby boy was born, but that would be the first and last time she ever saw him, for she knew she could not raise the child herself and still keep xaries, and in the end, it was xaries she loved more.
